Peter Don Griot, MD, PhD, is a plastic surgeon working as a consultant working at the Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc. In his work he is focussing on paediatric plastic surgery and hand surgery. His main research area is on clinimetrics in cleft lip surgery and the evaluation of treatment and outcome in Robin Sequence.
Besides patient-related activities, he has memberships in several societies and is a past president of the Dutch Association for Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies. Since 2000 he has participated in annual missions to Vietnam and Laos with the Bridge the Gap Foundation, a combined dentistry, maxillo-facial, and plastic surgery mission, focusing mainly on cleft lip and palate, noma and general oral medicine.
