Goals of the ECPCA

During the 10th European Craniofacial Congress in Gothenburg in 2015, the European Cleft Palate Craniofacial association was established.

The main objectives of the ECPCA are to promote and facilitate the management of cleft lip and palate deformities, and related craniofacial anomalies, in Europe by organizing a multi-disciplinary European congress once every four years for dissemination of experience and knowledge in this field.

The ECPCA should also assist and encourage the establishment of European agreed standards and methods of assessment and documentation that would permit comparison of results of different methods of treatment worldwide.

Where possible, it should support and facilitate the establishment of multi-center trials and research projects. It should promote and encourage multidisciplinary education and surgical support in the areas of the world where cleft care is not yet comprehensive or universal. Moreover, the ECPCA should encourage the development of special interest groups, committees and task forces within the association to fulfill the above aims.

All European healthcare professional and others involved in the multi-disciplinary management of cleft lip and palate deformity, and related craniofacial anomalies can become members. Membership of the ECPCA is possible if the member is part of the national cleft lip palate/craniofacial association of the specific country.
